Mary Burke is excited to be a Communications Volunteer for the Long Island Chapter of because I said I would. As the proud mother of four young children, Mary enjoys dedicating time to helping others through volunteer work. It is her belief that “we grow within ourselves, when we give of ourselves”, and Mary strives to demonstrate that lesson to her children. From organizing and working on community-based events and school related functions, to serving the poor and underprivileged at a local soup kitchen, Mary displays her concern for others through action. After being introduced to the mission of because I said I would by close friends, Mary knew immediately that this was a social movement that she could contribute to, while strengthening her community, and improving herself as an individual.
